Great experience
We went to the stadium predominantly because my teenage sons were really keen on seeing some Muay Thai. As expected, the boys had a great time and, now that we are home, say that our visit to Rajadamnern was one of the highlights of their trip to Thailand.I am probably about as far from the target audience as it’s possible to be, but I also really enjoyed the visit. There was a great atmosphere and a good mix of tourists and locals. Points that might be helpful for future visitors are as follows:1. Getting tickets - We booked tickets online, which included reserved seating - this was really straightforward. E-tickets were sent to us upon booking and when you arrived at the stadium there was a specific e-ticket counter where you showed the e-tickets and they gave you a wristband and paper ticket and showed you to your seat.2. Seating - I think that wherever you are in the stadium you would have a good view. We chose to sit in the club class seats (sections 8 and 9) and I was very happy with them. We only booked the tickets a month or so before attending and there was plenty of choice. I personally think that the best seats to go for in club class are Row B and would recommend B12 to B24 in Section 9.3. Facilities and food - were fantastic. Everything was really clean and well organised and the food was good quality. There was aircon.4. Getting there and back - I had read that finding transport on leaving the stadium could be really difficult. I downloaded the ‘Grab’ app (Thai equivalent of Uber) and used that to book a cab home, it was cheap and easy. Getting to the stadium took a lot longer as we were travelling during rush hour. In hindsight perhaps we should have booked a late lunch/early dinner near the stadium to avoid rush hour travel.
